Hurricane Debby, downgraded to Tropical Storm Debby, impacted the Stony Hill community from August 7th thru August 9th, 2024.  The slow moving storm brought heavy rain and flooding for much of Central and Eastern NC.  

Stony Hill Baptist Church suffered no damage.  However, on August 8th, 2024 we lost one of several large historic oak trees surrounding the Old Church building.  Heavy rain combined with gusty winds was enough to topple the huge tree.  

Thank the Lord this tree fell away from the buildings!  No one was injured and no property damage.
